A grid-scale energy storage developer is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their team.

The company is rapidly expanding its utility-scale BESS projects across the US. Aiming to be the number one employee in their space, it has created a thriving and dynamic work culture for its 50+ employees. Over the past five years, the company has built a portfolio of 1,400 MW of utility-scale energy storage projects that are either operational or under construction, with a robust pipeline of over 10,000 MW in active development.


Position Overview:

The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for the management of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage and Substation Projects alongside the guidance of a Senior Project Manager.

Key duties include coordinating Project Safety, Scheduling, Budget, Contract Management, and Construction Quality. While this role is primarily office-based, occasional travel to project sites will be necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall project design, coordinating internal and external engineering resources.
  • Oversee the project plan, and conduct site kick-off and close-out meetings with the construction manager.
  • Handle design RFIs, coordinating with engineering teams.
  • Engage proactively with landowners to meet their expectations.
  • Lead by example, emphasizing safety as the top priority. Reinforce safe behaviors, correct at-risk behaviors, and ensure hazard analysis occurs before work begins.
  • Ensure team compliance with standard operating procedures and provide job-specific training.
  • Deliver excellence in project management and maintain strong relationships with EPC.
  • Assist with the coordination of the project budget, including costs, forecasts, procurement, and materials management.
  • Oversee field purchases of project-related materials and equipment as required.
  • Ensure EPC adherence to the contract and review change orders.
  • Maintain a full understanding of all contractual obligations.
