We are working with one of the country’s most prominent energy storage manufacturers to help them find a Director of Business Development.

After significant investment, the business is poised to grow exponentially over the coming years. We need to talk to experienced sales professionals with solid track records in the Solar industry to focus on Utility-scale storage applications powered by lithium-ion battery technology.

Initially, the incoming Director of Utility Sales will adopt a hands-on approach, actively generating direct sales. You will be tasked to develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for their large-scale energy storage products within the utility market. This includes identifying new business opportunities and building strong relationships with decision-makers at Developers, larger EPCs, and Utility companies across the United States. Close collaboration with the marketing, product development, and management teams will be essential to enhance and fine-tune product offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning.
You will join a well-established business that has built a robust technical, operations, and sales staff team over the past five years. The company targets to grow from 200 – to 400 staff over the next three years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to co-develop strategic approaches, focusing on engaging decision-makers within utilities, IPPs, and EPCs.
  • Uncover and evaluate opportunities, envisioning diverse applications for the company’s products and services.
  • Lead the charge in identifying potential sales targets, steering negotiations, and ensuring successful utility energy storage solutions closures.
  • Partner closely with our product management teams to curate and elevate the product portfolio, shaping it for optimal traction within the dynamic US market. This entails collecting insights from customer partners and staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Establish and nurture vital relationships with key decision-makers among our clientele, capitalizing on existing networks whenever possible.
  • Craft compelling sales materials, including persuasive proposals and captivating presentations.
  • Thrive in an autonomous capacity within our fast-paced, growth-oriented company, thriving in an industry that’s driven by market dynamics.
