The Role
As Commercial Counsel, you will support contract review, manage commercial disputes, and lead negotiations for the inverter and battery sales teams. Additionally, you will provide guidance on various corporate and compliance legal matters. The successful candidate will have substantial contract negotiation experience in the solar sector and play a key role in advancing the company's commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including sales agreements, service agreements, and warranties for solar inverter and storage solutions.
- Dispute Resolution: Advise on claims and disputes with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Compliance: Provide counsel on legal and regulatory matters, identifying and mitigating business risks.
- Corporate Support: Assist with corporate governance and legal communications with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Outside Counsel Management: Engage and manage relationships with outside legal advisors.
Key Qualifications
- Legal Expertise: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, with admission to a U.S. state bar in good standing.
- Contract Negotiation: 5+ years of experience negotiating commercial contracts in the solar energy sector.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with energy project agreements and OEM experience with solar inverters or batteries.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to collaborate with internal teams and negotiate with external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Practical approach to complex business and legal issues.
- Self-Motivation: Organized and able to manage competing deadlines independently.
