Role Lead product development and deployment of control solutions for a new line of commercial and utility scale Battery Energy Storage Systems for the US renewable market. Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with external development teams to develop software control architecture and solutions tailored to ESS products.
Specify hardware needed to support software solutions.
Design, develop, and maintain software tools for managing, monitoring, and optimizing ESS.
Integrate ESS with other smart grid technologies and Energy Management System.
Test, troubleshoot and resolve software issues during development and deployment.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and incorporate relevant advancements into product line.
Support technical discussions with system suppliers.
Essential requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or similar
Knowledge of energy storage controls architecture including BMS, EMS, SCADA, and Modbus
Experience with BESS site controllers or microgrid controllers highly desirable
Strong project management, critical thinking, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with programming languages such as C+, C++ or Python preferred
