Company
One of the world’s most financially stable and globally successful renewable energy companies. With multi-billion dollar US revenue and a market-leading position in solar, the company is now scaling its presence in battery storage, developing its own in-house cells, launching next-generation US products with true vertical integration, and progressing concrete plans for domestic US manufacturing in the near future.

Despite their size, the US BESS team remains small and agile, offering the freedom to innovate, take ownership, and help shape strategy. The team culture is collaborative, flexible, and long-tenured, with strong leadership, excellent benefits, and high staff retention. There’s also a deep company-wide commitment to product quality, customer success, and environmental sustainability.

Role

  • Lead the North American Technical Solutions function supporting utility-scale, data center and C&I energy storage opportunities
  • Manage and develop a growing team of Solutions Engineers, with potential responsibility for Project Engineering as the function expands
  • Coordinate a fast-paced pipeline of technical work, including approximately 3–4 customer RFPs per week
  • Partner closely with Sales throughout customer qualification, bidding strategy, RFP review, system design and technical proposal development
  • Oversee system architecture and integration across BESS, PCS, medium-voltage transformers, EMS, SCADA and hybrid PV + storage solutions
  • Guide technical evaluations including system sizing, degradation, inverter/BESS interactions, site topology and auxiliary load analysis
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point while ensuring drawings, sizing studies and proposals meet technical and commercial requirements
  • Drive stronger processes, tools and automation across the Solutions Engineering function
  • Work closely with customers, strategic technology partners and global Technical Solutions and Product teams

Candidate requirements

  • Utility-scale energy experience is essential, with BESS strongly preferred
  • Strong people leader with approximately 4+ years of experience managing engineering teams of four or more people
  • Open to experienced Engineering Managers or Senior Managers ready to step into a Director-level position
  • Background in Solutions Engineering, Systems Engineering, Project Engineering or a closely related technical function
  • Experience managing multiple technical workstreams and a significant pipeline of customer or project activity
  • Exposure to technical proposals, RFPs or customer-facing engineering strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of BESS architecture, PCS/inverters, EMS/SCADA and system integration
  • Candidates from BESS OEMs, PCS or EMS providers, developers, EPCs and engineering consultancies will all be considered
  • Solar PV candidates can also be considered where they have meaningful utility-scale experience across inverters and SCADA
  • Sharp, process-oriented leader with strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate technical teams towards a common commercial goal

This is an opportunity to take leadership of a key North American technical function at an important stage of its growth, combining the stability and resources of a global market leader with the scope to shape a rapidly expanding US energy storage business.
