The Company
This U.S.-based leader in grid-scale battery storage is positioned to become one of the most significant companies in the American energy market. Backed by a global clean energy organization, they combine advanced engineering expertise with large-scale manufacturing capability and a growing domestic footprint. With a 40+ GWh project pipeline and more than 230 professionals already on board, their U.S. division is continuing to scale and is now hiring Field Service Technicians to support the operation and maintenance of utility-scale BESS assets across remote project sites.
The Role
As a Field Service Technician, you will be based on site supporting the operation and maintenance of grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems. Working under the guidance of a Field Service Engineer, this is a hands-on, outdoor role focused on preventive and corrective maintenance across BESS equipment, including battery systems, power conversion systems, fire suppression systems, and associated electrical and mechanical components.
The team is particularly interested in technicians who already have experience working on renewable energy or power-generation sites. This could include BESS, utility-scale solar, wind, inverter service, substations, or similar electrical infrastructure. Direct BESS experience is preferred, but strong field-service experience within utility-scale renewables can also translate well.
You will be involved in routine inspections, troubleshooting, component replacement, electrical testing, software and firmware updates, data collection, and documenting completed work using digital systems. Safety is central to the role, particularly when working around high-energy systems, lockout procedures, ladders, elevated platforms, and heavy equipment.
These are contract Field Service Technician roles supporting operational energy storage assets. The work is practical and site-focused, with a strong emphasis on reliability, safety, technical troubleshooting, and supporting the wider field service team.
Responsibilities Include:
• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on BESS equipment, PCS, and fire suppression systems
• Supporting troubleshooting activities and replacing components as required
• Conducting routine inspections, testing, and operational data collection
• Using electrical test equipment including voltmeters, insulation testers, amperage clamps, and meters
• Interfacing with HMIs, computer systems, and monitoring platforms
• Completing digital work orders, reports, and photo documentation
• Supporting software and firmware updates where required
• Following all safety procedures and escalating issues when required
• Supporting Field Service Engineers and site leadership with general maintenance activities
• Traveling to other regional sites where required
The Candidate
• 1+ year of experience in a hands-on renewable energy, power-generation, or industrial electrical role
• Previous site-based experience across BESS, solar, wind, inverters, substations, or similar electrical infrastructure
• Experience performing preventive or corrective maintenance on industrial or renewable-energy equipment
• Comfortable troubleshooting equipment and replacing components in the field
• Practical, hands-on mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies
• Comfortable working outdoors and in remote site environments
• Basic computer skills and confidence using digital platforms for reporting and documentation
• Valid driver’s license is mandatory
• Willingness to travel to remote project locations as required
