We're actively seeking a proficient and driven material manager to join the innovative team of one of California's leading construction firms. Their mission is to transform the schooling and educational sectors' construction landscape through a commitment to sustainability.

As the Materials Manager, you'll be tasked with procuring the organization's vast array of materials and goods, collaborating closely with procurement and project teams to develop cost estimates throughout project cycles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, create, and expedite purchase orders as needed.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels to support inventory objectives.
  • Resolve supply-related issues and manage purchasing and receiving data.
  • Aid in cost-saving initiatives and RMA processes.
  • Address material shortages and assist with inventory organization.
  • Cultivate and manage vendor relationships to align with facility needs.
  • Analyze sales order releases for capacity and material requirements.
  • Coordinate inventory, schedules, and availability of designated items to meet production targets.
  • Review work-in-progress materials from the production floor.
  • Liaise with manufacturing, purchasing, and supervisory staff on material status and production planning.
  • Conduct regular inventory assessments.
  • Support cost-saving efforts and provide feedback on supplier performance.
  • Contribute to the development and reinforcement of sound inventory practices.
Requirements:
  • Basic ability in interpreting construction or engineering blueprints
  • Substantial experience in construction or building manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for acquiring new skills with a proactive approach.
  • Exceptional communication skills across all organizational levels and with customers.
  • Strong capabilities in contract management and negotiation.
