Job Summary
We are seeking a Process Automation Technician responsible for monitoring and optimizing process recipes and parameters across all production stages. You’ll play a key role in maintaining equipment efficiency, troubleshooting process deviations, and supporting quality assurance efforts. This role also involves preventive maintenance, analyzing operational data, and working cross-functionally with Quality and Maintenance teams to enhance process control and reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, document, and adjust process recipes and control parameters to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Identify and resolve process deviations using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and implement Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs) as needed.
- Conduct regular audits of equipment to capture process settings and maintain consistency.
- Work closely with the Quality Team to analyze operational and quality data, making recipe adjustments to improve efficiency.
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of production equipment.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and A3 problem-solving, to optimize machine uptime, utilization, and production cycles.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot process or equipment issues, escalating complex problems to senior Engineering and Maintenance staff.
- Participate in root cause analysis using methods like PK (Process Killer), A3, and Apollo problem-solving to address failures and prevent reoccurrence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, troubleshooting industrial equipment, and using SPC tools.
- Experience with PLC, HMI, electro-pneumatics, hydraulic systems, vision systems, and VFDs is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Education & Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a technical field (e.g., Microelectronics, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology).
- At least 6 months of hands-on experience in a technical or automated manufacturing environment.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a fully/semi-automated manufacturing plant.
