A market leader in the U.S. energy storage industry, generating multi-billion-dollar annual revenue and continuing to scale rapidly across utility-scale storage, power infrastructure, and advanced industrial products.
Fully vertically integrated across hardware, software, engineering, manufacturing, and deployment, all based in the U.S., the company offers a rare opportunity to influence products used across some of the largest energy projects in the world.
The environment combines technical depth, speed, and high accountability, with significant ownership given to individuals who can translate complex market, engineering, manufacturing, and commercial requirements into scalable product decisions.
The Role
As a Staff or Senior Staff Product Manager specializing in Power Electronics, you will help drive the development, commercialization, and ongoing evolution of advanced power conversion technology supporting next-generation utility-scale energy storage and power infrastructure.
The position focuses on inverters, power electronics, and solid-state transformer technology, with responsibility for managing complex hardware products and ensuring they meet technical, commercial, manufacturing, and customer requirements.
You will work closely with electrical and power electronics engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, finance, and project delivery teams to translate technical capabilities and market requirements into product specifications, development priorities, and commercially successful solutions.
The role offers significant technical ownership across products that are central to the performance, efficiency, reliability, and cost competitiveness of large-scale energy storage systems.
The ideal candidate will combine strong product management experience with a credible technical understanding of power electronics. Direct utility-scale BESS experience is highly relevant, although candidates from adjacent power conversion, industrial electrification, and advanced electrical hardware backgrounds will also be relevant.
Responsibilities Include:
Owning product strategy, requirements, and roadmap priorities for advanced power electronics hardware, including inverter and solid-state transformer technologies.
Managing the product lifecycle from development and validation through manufacturing ramp, commercialization, sustaining, and continuous improvement.
Translating customer requirements, market developments, engineering capabilities, and techno-economic analysis into clear product specifications and priorities.
Defining product configurations, technical specifications, and variants to meet different applications, market requirements, and grid codes.
Driving product cost reduction, manufacturability, margin improvement, and technical competitiveness alongside engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance.
Managing product changes, supplier considerations, quality improvements, and production challenges throughout the hardware lifecycle.
Acting as the product owner across engineering, manufacturing, commercial, and customer-facing teams to ensure successful product development and deployment.
The Candidate
Strong experience in technical product management, ideally owning complex electrical or power electronics hardware through development, launch, manufacturing, and sustaining.
Technical understanding of power electronics, particularly inverter technology, power conversion systems, or solid-state transformers.
Experience with technologies such as DC/AC conversion, power semiconductor systems, electrical protection, controls, or high-power electrical equipment.
Backgrounds within utility-scale BESS, inverter manufacturers, industrial power conversion, renewable energy, electrical equipment OEMs, or related power electronics sectors will be considered.
Ability to engage confidently with electrical and power electronics engineering teams, understand technical trade-offs, and translate engineering requirements into product decisions.
Experience with NPI, product launches, manufacturing scale-up, and ongoing hardware product improvement.
Commercial awareness, with the ability to assess market requirements, product competitiveness, cost reduction opportunities, and customer value.
Willing to work from Palo Alto, California.
The team is considering candidates at Senior and Staff level depending on experience, technical depth, and previous product ownership.
