The Role As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be a critical driver of their manufacturing capabilities, responsible for scaling and optimizing their pilot production line. This role offers flexibility in seniority, ranging from a hands-on Senior Manufacturing Engineer to a Director of Manufacturing Engineering level, depending on the candidate's experience and proven capabilities.
This role demands an innovative approach to building and improving their cutting-edge energy storage manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Innovation: Lead the development and optimization of our modular, scalable manufacturing processes, including roll-to-roll converting, formulation, web converting, and extrusion.

Prototyping and Development: Design, build, and test prototype equipment, conducting back-of-envelope engineering calculations to inform strategic decisions.

Vendor Management: Collaborate with global vendors to source, commission, and optimize manufacturing equipment and processes.

Process Optimization: Continuously improve manufacturing throughput, yield, and efficiency through data-driven approaches and innovative solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and product development teams to ensure manufacturing processes align with technical and commercial objectives.

Key Qualifications:

Technical Background: Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering degree required. Chemical Engineering with reactor building experience is a plus.

Manufacturing Expertise: 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in dynamic manufacturing environments, preferably in roll-to-roll converting, casting, and drying processes.

Practical Skills: Proven ability to build, prototype, and optimize equipment. Strong preference for candidates who have worked across multiple manufacturing domains.

Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in hands-on engineering, with emphasis on practical implementation rather than CAD design.

Global Perspective: Experience working with international vendors and conducting manufacturing trials.
