The Company
A global leader in industrial automation and electrification, delivering complex, high-value projects across some of the world's most demanding industries. Formed as a joint venture between two global technology powerhouses, the business has grown to over 2,000 employees worldwide, including approximately 800 in the US, and continues to expand its presence across industrial and energy markets.

Its Industrial Solutions division supports sectors including oil & gas, mining, metals, cement, ports, manufacturing, and renewable energy, providing advanced electrical equipment and automation technology. Solutions include VFDs, large industrial motors, switchgear, and integrated power systems, supporting both new installations and the modernization of existing industrial infrastructure.

The business is experiencing significant growth, with plans to substantially expand its US project management team. Employees benefit from a stable, supportive working environment, a relaxed and respectful culture, and strong long-term career development opportunities.

The Role
The Project Manager will take ownership of complex industrial electrical and automation projects, typically ranging from $1M to $50M in value, across both traditional industrial and renewable energy applications.

This is an end-to-end project delivery position, managing projects from contract award through engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, and final handover.

You will act as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating internal engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to contractual expectations.

The role combines technical project management with significant commercial and customer-facing responsibility. You will be expected to take ownership of project performance, manage challenging customer discussions, and make informed commercial decisions while maintaining strong working relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple industrial electrical and automation projects simultaneously, ranging from $1M to $50M in value.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, cost forecasting, contractual obligations, and financial performance.
  • Act as the primary customer contact, leading project reviews, managing expectations, and resolving technical or commercial challenges.
  • Coordinate internal engineering teams, suppliers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify and manage project risks, scope changes, and commercial variations to protect project margins.
  • Monitor project performance and provide accurate financial, schedule, and progress reporting to management.
This is a growth hire within an expanding US operation, with the project management team expected to grow substantially over the coming years. The position offers the opportunity to manage major industrial and energy projects within an established global business known for its strong culture and long-term stability.

The Candidate
  • 3+ years of project management experience, delivering complex industrial electrical, automation, or power-related projects.
  • Experience managing capital projects valued at $1M+, with larger multi-million-dollar project experience highly desirable.
  • Background in oil & gas, industrial manufacturing, mining, power generation, renewable energy, or related sectors. Industrial experience is particularly attractive.
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical equipment such as VFDs, large AC motors, LV/MV switchgear, E-houses, and associated power systems.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, financial forecasting, cost control, contractual requirements, and commercial risks.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills, with the confidence to lead meetings, manage difficult conversations, and negotiate practical solutions.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience. PMP certification advantageous but not essential.
  • Comfortable travelling up to 25% for customer meetings, project sites, and other business requirements.
