We are partnered with a leading Solar EPC based in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic region. Having installed and constructed solar projects for over 20 years they are seeking to grow deeper into the utility space with several exciting projects in the pipeline for 2024 and beyond. 

The Role: 

They are seeking an experienced solar superintendent to lead the construction of a 380-acre solar project in Cincinnati. You would be working onsite with various union-skilled trade crews and supervising subcontractors and union team members in the construction of Solar PV Array systems. This role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of solar construction activities, focusing on Safety, Production, and Profitability. You would also be required to supervise others by planning, assigning, and directing their work followed by appraising their performance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall onsite project team(s) in a positive, team-driven, results-oriented manner.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with clients and internal contacts to facilitate construction activities.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Monitor/control construction to ensure the project is built safely on schedule and within budget. Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with clients.
  • Mentor and assist with the career development of other team members.
  • Coordinate with back-office teams to provide support as needed for the onsite project teams.
  • Actively search for continuous improvements in project planning, processes, and execution.

Required Experience and Skills: 

  • Several years of experience with extensive knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management as well as proven leadership in a self-performing general contractor role required.
  • Must be able to understand, interpret, and consistently apply safety laws, company policies/standards, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Ability to plan strategically over the entire span of a project and foresee and mitigate obstacles to performance.
