The Role
Engineers with no prior direct sales experience would suit this role.
As Business Development Manager, On-Site Power & Microgrids, you will focus on developing new applications for energy storage within on-site generation environments, including data centers, remote operations, and hybrid power systems.
You will work closely with developers, EPCs, and equipment providers to identify system challenges, particularly within natural gas and hybrid generation, and define how energy storage can improve stability, reliability, and overall system efficiency. Acting as a technical-commercial lead, you will engage early with customers, shape solutions, and support opportunities through initial development stages.
This role also contributes to identifying new use cases and markets, helping define how storage integrates into evolving on-site power strategies across multiple industries.
Responsibilities Include:
• Partnering with on-site power developers, EPCs, and OEMs to identify system challenges and define technical solutions
• Supporting development of new use cases for energy storage within hybrid and generation-backed systems
• Engaging directly with customers to shape early-stage opportunities and position solutions effectively
• Analyzing system performance, reliability, and optimization opportunities across on-site power applications
• Identifying new markets and applications, including remote power, industrial operations, and hybrid systems
• Leading technical discussions with stakeholders to support solution development and adoption
The Candidate
• Strong understanding of power generation systems, particularly natural gas or hybrid systems
• Background may include solutions engineering, applications engineering, project development, or technical sales
• Comfortable engaging directly with customers and operating in technically complex environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect technical solutions to commercial outcomes
