The Role Support the development of competitive utility-scale BESS solutions across the Americas, acting as a technical partner to customers, EPCs, developers, and the commercial team throughout the pre-NTP phase. This position will take technical ownership from initial customer engagement and RFP review through solution development, proposal preparation, compliance review, and handover into project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Review utility-scale BESS RFPs, specifications, technical requirements, and customer documentation to define appropriate system solutions.
Develop technical proposals, system designs, layouts, drawings, and supporting documentation based on project and customer requirements.
Work directly with customers, developers, EPCs, and engineering teams to answer technical questions and support the development of competitive solutions.
Provide technical guidance across BESS system integration, including batteries, PCS, controls, communications, thermal management, fire protection, and system layout.
Coordinate with Product and R&D teams around customer feedback, certifications, product enhancements, and cost-performance improvements.
Support technical presentations, customer meetings, and industry events alongside the commercial team.
Ensure a clear technical handover from the pre-sales phase into project execution following NTP.
The Candidate
3+ years of experience within renewable energy, power systems, or a related technical environment.
At least 2 years of direct utility-scale BESS experience is strongly preferred.
Experience within Applications Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Systems Engineering, Project Engineering, or a similar technical position.
Strong understanding of utility-scale battery systems, PCS/inverters, controls, system layouts, thermal management, and fire protection.
Experience reviewing technical specifications, customer requirements, RFPs, or engineering documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Strong customer-facing communication and technical presentation skills.
Mandarin language capability is highly desirable due to regular interaction with engineering and product teams based in China.
