The role
As the site continues to scale and operational complexity increases, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth and compliant flow of materials into the facility. Supporting U.S. import customs and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with trade regulations while enabling efficient supply chain execution. This position sits at the intersection of customs compliance, logistics, and manufacturing—where accuracy, coordination, and speed are all essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily U.S. import customs clearance activities in line with CBP regulations and internal compliance policies.
- Review and validate shipping documentation and entry data to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders to manage shipment documentation, filings, and clearance status.
- Monitor inbound shipments and support the resolution of operational or customs-related issues.
- Maintain and manage Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) inventory records and compliance documentation.
- Support ERP and FTZ system data accuracy, ensuring reliable material tracking and reporting.
- Maintain import compliance records including HTS classification, country of origin, valuation data, and entry documentation.
- Collaborate with logistics, purchasing, and production teams to ensure efficient material flow and regulatory adherence.
Essential requirements
- 3+ years of experience in import customs, trade compliance, or international logistics
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, or international shipping operations
- Working knowledge of U.S. import regulations, including CBP requirements
- Familiarity with HTS classification, country of origin, and customs documentation processes
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage documentation and data accurately
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
Desirable requirements
- Experience with Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and compliance processes
- Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally SAP
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or a related field
