Tonic is partnering with a global leader in advanced lithium-ion battery manufacturing as it continues to scale its state-of-the-art manufacturing operation in Queen Creek, Arizona.
The Arizona operation has now moved into manufacturing and remains in the relatively early stages of its production ramp. As production continues to scale, the business is building out the teams, suppliers, and infrastructure required to support a major high-volume manufacturing operation.
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to support indirect procurement across the site, with a particular focus on construction, engineering, maintenance and production-related goods and services.
This is an opportunity to join during an important stage of the site's development, with significant procurement activity continuing as the operation matures and expands.
THE ROLE
You'll support end-to-end indirect procurement for a large-scale advanced manufacturing facility.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and global teams, you'll be responsible for sourcing, commercial negotiations, purchasing and supplier management across a broad range of requirements.
A significant part of the position will involve supporting ongoing construction, engineering and plant-related procurement as the Arizona operation continues to scale.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing end-to-end procurement activities for indirect materials, goods and services
Supporting construction, engineering, maintenance and production-related purchasing
Identifying, evaluating and developing qualified suppliers
Conducting cost analysis and commercial negotiations
Driving cost-reduction and procurement-efficiency initiatives
Preparing and issuing purchase orders for goods, services and installations
Managing order status, delivery schedules and payment processes
Supporting ongoing plant expansion and infrastructure projects
Managing supplier performance, quality and commercial relationships
Registering new vendors and maintaining supplier information within procurement systems
Supporting contract negotiations, renewals and vendor agreements
Preparing purchasing, spend and supplier-performance reporting
Working with internal departments to forecast requirements and coordinate purchasing activity
Supporting global sourcing initiatives alongside international teams
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone with established procurement experience who is comfortable operating within a fast-moving manufacturing and construction environment.
You should have:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related discipline
3+ years of relevant procurement experience
Experience supporting construction-related procurement, including factory construction, architectural, electrical or engineering projects
Experience with indirect procurement, global sourcing, vendor management and contract administration
Strong commercial understanding of supplier costs, pricing and negotiations
Experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities within a rapidly scaling environment
Ability to collaborate with global headquarters and international teams across different time zones
Experience within advanced manufacturing, automotive, batteries, semiconductors, electronics or another large-scale industrial environment would be particularly valuable.
WHY CONSIDER IT?
This is an opportunity to join one of the world's major advanced battery manufacturers at an important stage in the development of its Arizona operation.
Manufacturing is already underway, but the site remains relatively early in its overall production ramp. That creates a different opportunity from joining either a greenfield project or a mature, steady-state factory.
You'll be joining an operation that is actively scaling, with continued investment across production, equipment, infrastructure and the wider supply base.
For a procurement professional, that means exposure to a broad range of purchasing activity — from construction and engineering services through to the ongoing requirements of a high-volume manufacturing facility.
You'll have the opportunity to work with both local and global stakeholders, build relationships with key suppliers and directly contribute to the continued development of a major U.S. advanced manufacturing operation.
If you have a background in construction or indirect procurement and want to join a major manufacturing business during a significant period of growth, we'd like to hear from you.
