The Role:
Lead the build-out of the company’s US commissioning function across utility-scale BESS projects.

The Senior Commissioning Manager will build and lead the US commissioning team from the ground up, owning commissioning standards, procedures, documentation, team development, field execution, customer acceptance, and project handover across multiple sites.

This is a senior leadership role, but it will also require someone who is willing to remain hands-on during the early stage of growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the direction of the commissioning function while still being close enough to the technical detail to support field execution, troubleshooting, and customer-facing delivery.

This role is critical to the company’s US expansion and will play a key part in ensuring safe, high-quality delivery across major BESS projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Build, lead, and scale the US commissioning team, including hiring, onboarding, training, resource planning, and team development.
• Develop commissioning standards, procedures, KPIs, documentation, test plans, handover packages, and field execution processes.
• Lead commissioning activity across utility-scale BESS projects in the US, ensuring safe, high-quality delivery.
• Oversee hot and cold commissioning, system checks, controls verification, communications testing, charge / discharge testing, troubleshooting, and validation.
• Act as a senior technical point of contact for internal teams, customers, EPCs, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve commissioning issues across electrical, controls, communications, and system-level interfaces.

The Candidate:

• 8+ years of relevant commissioning experience, ideally including utility-scale BESS commissioning and team leadership.
• Experience managing or leading teams
• Strong hands-on commissioning experience, with the willingness to remain technically involved during the early stage of the US build-out.
• Strong experience with hot and cold commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, validation, and handover of electrical or energy systems.
• Strong technical understanding of BESS systems, ideally including PCS, BMS, EMS, SCADA, controls, communications, grid interconnection, and system-level testing.
• Engineering degree preferred, ideally electrical or mechanical, although strong practical experience will also be considered.
