The Arizona operation has now moved into manufacturing and remains in the relatively early stages of its production ramp. As production volumes increase, building a reliable, cost-effective and resilient raw-material supply chain is becoming increasingly important to the site's continued growth.
We are looking for an experienced Materials Management professional to take a senior role in raw-material purchasing, supplier management and material availability.
This is a hands-on position sitting close to manufacturing operations, where your ability to manage suppliers, anticipate material requirements and resolve supply issues will have a direct impact on production.
You'll take responsibility for complex raw-material purchasing activities supporting a rapidly scaling advanced manufacturing operation.
Working across suppliers, manufacturing teams, logistics and global headquarters, you'll help ensure the materials required for production are available at the right time, at the right cost and in the right quantities.
You'll also act as a senior point of contact when material shortages, supplier issues, logistics challenges or changing production requirements need to be resolved.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading raw-material purchasing activities to support production requirements
Monitoring supplier performance, pricing, delivery schedules and material availability
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers
Resolving material shortages, delivery delays and other supply-related issues
Managing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) activities
Monitoring inventory coverage and helping maintain appropriate raw-material levels
Reviewing production demand, purchasing requirements and inventory trends
Identifying potential shortages or excess inventory before they impact operations
Evaluating transportation and logistics options
Negotiating freight, transit and other supply-related costs
Managing escalated purchasing, shipment and material-availability issues
Working cross-functionally with Production, Supply Chain, Logistics and other internal teams
Providing regular reporting to global headquarters on purchasing activity, inventory, supplier performance, costs and critical issues
Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes, supplier performance and overall cost efficiency
Providing guidance to other team members on complex purchasing and materials-related matters
We're looking for an experienced supply chain or materials professional who understands what it takes to maintain material availability within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
You should have:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations or a related discipline preferred
7+ years of experience across materials management, procurement, purchasing, supply chain or logistics
Strong experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation and relationship management
Experience managing complex purchasing and materials requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Commercial understanding of supplier costs, pricing and logistics
Ability to independently manage supplier and material issues
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience using ERP, purchasing or inventory-management systems
Ability to work on-site in Queen Creek and collaborate with international teams across different time zones
Experience managing raw materials within batteries, automotive, electronics, chemicals, semiconductors or another high-volume manufacturing environment would be particularly valuable.
This is an opportunity to join one of the world's major advanced battery manufacturers during a significant stage in the development of its Arizona operation.
Manufacturing is underway, but the facility remains relatively early in its overall production ramp. As output continues to increase, materials management becomes increasingly critical — ensuring production has the raw materials it needs while balancing inventory, supplier performance, logistics and cost.
Rather than joining a mature supply chain where the processes and supplier base are already fully established, you'll have the opportunity to help shape how materials are purchased and managed as the operation continues to scale.
You'll work across local operations, global suppliers and international headquarters, giving you exposure to both the day-to-day realities of high-volume manufacturing and the wider global supply chain behind a major battery business.
Most importantly, this is a role where your work has a very visible impact. Material availability, supplier performance and purchasing decisions directly influence the site's ability to maintain and increase production.
If you're an experienced materials, purchasing or supply chain professional looking to play a significant role within a growing advanced manufacturing operation, we'd like to hear from you.
