The Company
A market leader in the U.S. energy industry, generating multi-billion-dollar annual revenue and continuing to scale rapidly across utility-scale storage, power infrastructure, solar manufacturing, and advanced industrial products.
Fully vertically integrated across hardware, software, engineering, manufacturing, and deployment, all based in the U.S., the company offers a rare opportunity to influence products used across some of the largest energy projects in the world. The business is investing heavily in domestic solar manufacturing, developing technology from the cell through to the finished module while also building complete utility-scale solar power plant offerings.
The environment combines technical depth, speed, and high accountability, with significant ownership given to individuals who can translate complex engineering, customer, market, and grid requirements into scalable product decisions.

The Role
As Staff or Senior-Staff level Product Manager for Utility-Scale Solar Power Plants, you will own the product strategy and roadmap for an integrated solar offering spanning module technology, power electronics, grid infrastructure, plant controls, and solar-plus-storage configurations.
You will work closely with hardware, software, commercial, manufacturing, and energy storage teams to understand how utility developers, EPCs, IPPs, and customers design and operate solar projects, then translate those requirements into competitive products and system-level specifications.
This role requires someone with a strong engineering foundation who can engage credibly across solar cell and module technology, power plant design, power electronics, grid interconnection, and project economics. The ideal candidate will bring direct solar product experience, but candidates from EPC, developer, IPP, applications engineering, or customer-side backgrounds will also be considered where they understand how solar hardware is designed, selected, integrated, and deployed.

Responsibilities Include:
• Defining the product strategy and roadmap for utility-scale solar power plant offerings
• Developing a detailed understanding of utility solar project requirements and translating them into product specifications
• Working with hardware engineering teams to define system-level requirements, performance targets, and integration specifications
• Contributing to product decisions across solar cell and module technology, power electronics, DC collection, substations, plant controls, and SCADA
• Designing and optimizing co-located solar-plus-storage configurations, including AC- and DC-coupling strategies
• Engaging directly with developers, IPPs, EPCs, utilities, and customers to gather requirements and validate product direction
• Building techno-economic models covering energy yield, clipping, curtailment, project value, and revenue opportunities from co-located storage

The Candidate
• At least five years of experience within utility-scale solar, including power plant design, systems engineering, product development, applications engineering, operations, or technical business development
• Strong understanding of utility-scale solar systems, including central or string inverters, DC collection, AC substations, plant-level controls, and SCADA
• Experience with solar module or cell technology is strongly preferred
• Candidates from solar OEMs, developers, EPCs, IPPs, or customer-side organizations will be considered
• Strong hardware knowledge and an understanding of how products move from engineering development through manufacturing and field deployment
• Comfortable discussing technical matters with electrical, mechanical, materials, and chemical engineering teams
• Experience with solar-plus-storage design and the trade-offs associated with co-located and AC- or DC-coupled BESS
• Able to translate complex technical and market information into clear product decisions
• Willing to work from Palo Alto, California

The team is considering candidates at Staff and Senior Staff level depending on experience, technical depth, and previous product ownership.
