We’re hiring a Vendor Management Specialist to join a rapidly scaling US-based renewable energy storage business at a critical point in its growth.

This is a 12-month contract role, with a strong possibility of converting to permanent, created to strengthen and stabilise vendor management processes as the company secures multiple multi-million-dollar contracts running through to 2027.

The focus is practical and hands-on: tightening processes, ensuring data accuracy, and building effective working relationships with suppliers and vendors in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

The Opportunity

This role has been introduced to shore up vendor management operations during a period of heavy commercial momentum. Processes and systems already exist, but the business is stretched — they need someone who can step in, adapt quickly, and raise the bar on execution.

You’ll take ownership of vendor onboarding, data integrity, and ongoing vendor coordination, while working closely with procurement, finance, and compliance teams. Over time, you’ll also help improve how systems and workflows are used day-to-day.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structure, data accuracy, and rolling up their sleeves in a business where no two days look the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end vendor onboarding and management process

  • Ensure vendor data is accurately recorded and maintained across internal systems

  • Own the quality, completeness, and consistency of the vendor database

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and vendors

  • Act as the main point of contact for vendor queries and follow-ups

  • Work cross-functionally with procurement, finance, and compliance teams

  • Support audits, reporting, and data requests related to vendor activity

  • Help adapt and optimise existing software and processes as the business scales

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years’ experience in vendor management, procurement, or a similar operational role

  • Experience working within medium to large organisations

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

  • Strong data management mindset with a focus on accuracy and process discipline

  • Comfortable working within defined systems while helping improve how they’re used

  • Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented

  • Clear communicator who can manage multiple stakeholders

  • A true self-starter — someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience using ERP or procurement platforms (SAP, Coupa, Oracle, etc.)

  • Exposure to vendor compliance, risk management, or audit processes

Working Arrangement

  • On-site, full-time for the first 3 months to embed systems and ways of working

  • After that, some flexibility to work from home once processes are fully established

Contract Details

  • Contract length: 12 months (with potential to convert to permanent)

  • Pay rate: $21.50 – $26.40 per hour

Why This Role?

  • Join a business actively supporting the US clean energy transition

  • Play a key role in stabilising and scaling vendor operations during rapid growth

  • High visibility across procurement, finance, and compliance

  • Opportunity to prove value and convert to a long-term position
