The Company
This U.S.-based leader in grid-scale battery storage is positioned to become one of the most dominant companies in the American energy market. Backed by a global clean energy powerhouse, they combine advanced engineering expertise with cutting-edge manufacturing capacity, including a growing domestic footprint. With a 35 plus GWh project pipeline and more than 230 professionals already on board, their U.S. division is scaling fast as they continue developing some of the most advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems in the industry.

The Role
As Electrical Engineering Manager, you will lead the electrical design and development of grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems within a rapidly expanding hardware engineering team based in Massachusetts.
This role sits at the center of product development for next-generation BESS systems, overseeing the design of high-power electrical systems while guiding a team responsible for system architecture, protection schemes, and electrical integration within containerized energy storage platforms.
Working closely with mechanical engineers, product development teams, and manufacturing groups, you will ensure electrical systems are safe, scalable, and compliant with industry standards while delivering high-performance solutions for utility-scale energy storage.

The position combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering involvement. You will mentor engineers, review designs, and guide technical direction while remaining closely involved in the engineering work itself.
Because these systems sit at the intersection of electrical and mechanical engineering, the role is particularly suited to engineers who have worked on electromechanical systems and understand how electrical designs are implemented within physical equipment and enclosures.

The engineering team operates within a large in-house testing facility capable of full system validation of containerized battery storage solutions before deployment to the field.

Responsibilities Include
• Leading the electrical design and development of BESS systems, including one-line diagrams, protection systems, and power distribution architecture
• Managing and mentoring a team of engineers working across electrical and electromechanical system design
• Driving standardization of electrical designs across product lines and development programs
• Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards including UL, NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and IEC
• Supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams
• Reviewing and approving technical drawings, electrical schematics, and engineering documentation
• Providing technical guidance during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases
• Supporting system-level design decisions related to electrical integration within containerized platforms
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on performance, reliability, and cost efficiency

The Candidate
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or similar discipline
• 8+ years of experience working with high-power electrical or electromechanical systems
• Previous experience leading or mentoring engineers within a technical development environment
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems, electrical protection, and system-level design
• Experience working on electromechanical systems where electrical and mechanical components interact
• Familiarity with industry standards such as NEC, UL, NFPA, IEEE, or IEC
• Experience with electrical design tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or similar platforms
• Experience with battery energy storage systems, power electronics, power conversion systems, or similar high-power equipment is beneficial
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility preferred but not required
• Strong communication skills with the ability to guide engineers and review technical work

Engineers from either electrical or mechanical backgrounds will be considered if they have strong exposure to electrical systems and electromechanical product development.
