The Role
You will join a small, high-impact technical writing team responsible for producing and maintaining partner-facing technical documentation across a growing portfolio of industrial energy products.
The role will focus heavily on new product launches, including utility-scale solar and next-generation energy storage solutions for large-scale data center applications, while also supporting wider industrial energy documentation as products evolve over time.
You will be responsible for scoping, creating, publishing, and maintaining technical content used by customers, installers, partners, and other end users. Working closely with Product Managers, engineers, and subject matter experts, you will turn complex technical input into clear, structured, accurate documentation while managing revisions, review cycles, version updates, and ongoing content improvements.
Responsibilities Include:
• Creating and maintaining technical manuals, specifications, installation guides, design guides, owner’s manuals, and transportation or storage documentation
• Developing technical content for new industrial energy products across utility-scale solar and data center energy storage applications
• Scoping content and determining the structure, depth, and format required for specific end-user personas
• Working closely with Product Managers, engineers, and technical SMEs to gather and validate source information
• Leading structured review and publication cycles across multiple documents and products
• Maintaining published content through revisions, ticket-driven updates, corrections, and product changes
• Developing and maintaining terminology, glossary content, style standards, and documentation consistency
• Managing multiple documentation workstreams in a fast-paced product environment
• Using structured authoring tools and content-management processes to create scalable documentation
• Supporting continuous improvement across documentation workflows and standards
The Candidate
• 5+ years of technical writing experience for complex hardware, industrial systems, or energy products preferred
• Experience with industrial energy, battery storage, utility-scale solar, data center hardware, EV charging, switchgear, or related electrical infrastructure highly preferred
• Deep experience with structured authoring using DITA, Oxygen, or an equivalent framework
• Strong ability to extract technical information from SMEs and translate it into clear, accurate end-user documentation
• Comfortable managing review cycles, revisions, ticket-driven updates, and long-term document maintenance
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Strong technical curiosity and the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar products and concepts
• Must be able to work onsite in Palo Alto five days per week, with relocation considered
