The Role
As a Network Support Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the network infrastructure that underpins grid-scale Battery Energy Storage systems across a growing portfolio of live sites.
This role is focused on ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of industrial network environments, supporting operational systems that are critical to energy infrastructure. You will work closely with field service teams and internal engineering groups to troubleshoot issues, maintain network performance, and ensure consistent communication across SCADA and site systems.
The position offers a strong opportunity for someone with a solid networking foundation to step into the energy storage sector, gaining exposure to large-scale infrastructure while developing deeper expertise in industrial networking environments.
You will be part of a small but growing team, with the opportunity to take ownership of network support across multiple sites and contribute to the evolution of a more proactive, forward-thinking support function.
Responsibilities Include
• Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure across operational BESS sites, including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Troubleshooting network and communication issues, including connectivity losses and performance bottlenecks
• Working closely with field teams to diagnose and resolve on-site issues remotely
• Investigating outages and identifying root causes across network devices and communication layers
• Supporting secure network configurations and assisting with ongoing network security practices
• Assisting with configuration and optimization of network devices to ensure stable system performance
• Documenting network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting processes
• Supporting ticket-based workflows while contributing to more proactive monitoring and improvement initiatives
• Collaborating with internal teams to ensure consistent network performance across multiple active projects
The Candidate
• 3–6 years of experience in networking, network support, or related IT infrastructure roles
• Hands-on experience working with Cisco networking equipment is essential
• Experience supporting networks in complex or large-scale environments such as utilities, manufacturing, healthcare, data centers, or similar
• Strong troubleshooting skills across network connectivity, routing, and switching issues
• Experience working in customer-facing or high-pressure environments where uptime is critical
• Understanding of network fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewalls
• Exposure to industrial or critical infrastructure environments is preferred, though not essential
• Experience with Palo Alto, Linux, or similar technologies is beneficial but not required
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Self-sufficient, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of issues through to resolution
