Join one of the most influential energy companies in the world as it scales utility-scale battery storage across North America.
This US-owned and operated OEM is expanding its Energy Project Development team to accelerate the deployment of utility-scale BESS projects that showcase the full capability of its hardware, software, and integrated energy platform. This role sits at the sharp end of market growth, developing real projects, solving real grid challenges, and moving storage from concept to construction-ready.
This is a hands-on project development position focused on utility-scale battery storage, with responsibility spanning early-stage diligence through to project acquisition and handover to construction.
You’ll work across multiple North American power markets, identifying, evaluating, and advancing storage projects that demonstrate commercial viability while addressing market, interconnection, and permitting constraints. The role requires close coordination with internal technical, commercial, and legal teams, as well as external landowners, partners, utilities, and regulators.
What You’ll Do
Lead and support the development of utility-scale BESS projects across key North American markets
Perform early-stage site and project diligence, identifying and communicating critical risks and mitigations
Build and evaluate project economics, including sensitivity analysis on key commercial drivers
Negotiate and execute project acquisition agreements
Coordinate interconnection, permitting, land acquisition, and external stakeholder engagement
Manage cross-functional internal teams to hit development milestones
Prepare projects for transition into construction and long-term asset management
Help refine and scale internal development processes as the platform grow
The Candidate
Required:
3+ years’ experience in utility-scale storage or renewable energy project development and/or acquisitions
Direct experience negotiating project agreements
Strong understanding of project development from greenfield through to COD
Solid grasp of project economics and financial modeling inputs
Strongly Valued:
Experience across multiple wholesale power markets (WECC, PJM, SPP, MISO), with WECC a strong plus
Established network across the North American storage and renewables ecosystem
Confidence in engaging with landowners, utilities, regulators, and local authorities
Ability to operate in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with minimal structure
Why This Role Stands Out
Category-defining platform: Work on storage projects backed by one of the most advanced energy technology stacks in the world
True development ownership: Influence projects from first diligence through to construction readiness
Long-term upside : Competitive compensation, equity participation, and career growth.
This is a rare opportunity to develop utility-scale storage projects within a business that combines technology, manufacturing, and execution at a global scale, where successful projects genuinely shape the market.
