The role The Application Engineer will be a key technical partner to the sales team, preparing timely and accurate commercial proposals and technical specifications for PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. This role involves defining integrated hardware and software solutions, collaborating with clients, vendors, and OEM partners, and ensuring proposals are competitive and commercially viable.
Within this division of 15 people, there are multiple levels for upward mobility as well as regular opportunities to progress into sales and product development. The manager is extremely supportive whilst also allowing freedom. Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed commercial proposals and technical specifications to meet client RFQ requirements.
Lead technical and commercial proposal development for smaller-scale projects.
Translate client needs into hardware/software solutions in partnership with internal engineering teams and OEMs.
Develop pricing strategies to optimize project margins and assess supplier proposals for the best technical and economic fit.
Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to refine product and service solutions.
Deliver presentations at client meetings, technical conferences, and industry events.
The Candidate
Degree in engineering, preferably electrical or mechanical.
2+ years’ systems or application engineering experience in PV, energy storage, or power.
Proven track record of contributing effectively in project teams and building strong working relationships with clients and suppliers.
Team player.
Client-focused with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Prior success in client-facing, sales, or marketing-related technical roles (preferred).
