The Company
A global leader in renewable power and industrial technology, supporting some of the largest utility-scale solar and energy projects in the world. Formed as a joint venture between two household global names, the business employs over 2,000 people worldwide -  including 800 in the US - and is rapidly expanding in line with the demand for clean energy.
Its renewable division is a US market leader in utility-scale solar inverters, battery storage, and power electronics, with a strong track record of quality, service, and grid integration expertise. The company continues to grow its US footprint, including the development of a major new manufacturing facility in Texas.
Employees highlight the supportive and structured work environment, offering stability, technical training, and clear opportunities for long-term career growth.

The Role
The Field Service Technician will provide hands-on support for utility-scale solar inverter systems and other power electronic products, ensuring reliable performance across commissioning, warranty, and service phases. This is a remote role with extensive travel to project sites across the US, typically returning home most weekends.

In this position you will be responsible for installation, commissioning, diagnostics, and repair of large-scale inverter and power distribution systems. The role requires strong technical ability, clear communication with clients, and the discipline to manage detailed service records while working in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission, install, inspect, and test photovoltaic inverter systems to meet design performance standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment failures using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective components in power electronics, drives, and rotating machinery.
  • Provide technical support to clients and engineering teams, both on-site and remotely.
  • Report design or hardware/software deficiencies and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • No office requirement - this is a fully field-based role.

The Candidate
  • Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field experience.
  • At least 3 years’ hands-on field technician experience, ideally with PV inverters, power distribution, or power electronics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with large-scale electrical and rotating equipment.
  • Positive track record of working effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
  • Availability to travel extensively
