The Role
As Senior Sales Engineer, you will serve as a key technical member of the commercial team, supporting utility, IPP, and C&I battery energy storage projects across North and South America.
You will play a central role from early opportunity development through RFP response, system sizing, optimization, and contract negotiation. Acting as the technical bridge between customers and internal stakeholders, you will shape preliminary system designs, guide product configuration, and support financial modeling to ensure commercially viable and technically robust solutions.
This role also contributes to broader market strategy, product roadmap discussions, and feature development, while mentoring more junior Sales Engineers as the team scales.
Responsibilities Include:
• Identifying optimal commercial and technical BESS solutions for customers across the Americas
• Supporting the sales team with technical and financial modeling, system configuration, and product guidance
• Leading technical discussions with customers and internal teams to develop preliminary designs
• Negotiating technical components of customer contracts in partnership with the commercial team
• Supporting market entry strategy and contributing to product and feature development
• Monitoring tariffs and market mechanisms to refine modeling assumptions and commercial strategy
• Developing sales tools and technical support materials
• Mentoring Associate and Sales Engineers
The Candidate
• Minimum 2 years of experience within the energy sector, ideally storage, solar, wind, fuel cells, or gas turbines
• Background may be technical or commercial, including sales engineering, project engineering, procurement, contract management, project development, or product management
• Degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Preferred Experience:
• Contract negotiation experience relating to energy equipment
• Technical understanding of BESS systems
• Experience working with utilities, IPPs, or C&I energy customers
