This is a well-established SaaS platform built for construction record management. The software is used daily by professionals operating in real-world, often demanding site environments. It is practical, operational software.
After eight years of steady operation, the platform has recently been rebuilt and is now entering a new phase of growth. The business is moving from early adopters into larger, more mainstream construction companies. The technical foundations are strong. The next stage is about scale, stability, and thoughtful product evolution.
The Role
We are looking for a strong, hands-on Senior or Lead Full-Stack Engineer to take technical ownership of the platform as it grows.
The requirement is for a senior engineer who wants meaningful ownership, someone capable of making architectural decisions, improving systems pragmatically, and remaining deeply involved in building features.
You will work across a Symfony/Pimcore backend and React (MUI) frontend, contributing to both web and Android applications, including offline-first functionality that synchronises when connectivity is restored. You will take responsibility for API stability, performance, and ensuring the platform scales reliably as usage increases.
The role combines judgement with delivery. You will balance feature development with long-term technical improvements, making practical decisions that support both the product and the business. You will act as the senior technical voice within a small, experienced engineering team, guiding direction while staying hands-on.
What We’re Looking For
You should have strong PHP experience using modern frameworks (Symfony preferred, Laravel considered) and be confident working with React and TypeScript on the frontend. Experience designing and maintaining production REST APIs is essential, along with solid SQL knowledge including schema design and optimisation.
This role requires someone who understands how full-stack systems operate in a live SaaS environment, how frontends, APIs, and databases interact under real usage conditions. You should be comfortable collaborating within Git-based workflows and able to communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Most importantly, you should be pragmatic, confident in your judgement, and comfortable taking ownership.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
The company is backed by one of the most successful construction entrepreneurs in UK history, providing financial stability, long-term vision, and serious investment in growth.
This is not simply a development role. It is an opportunity to join a settled, experienced team at the point just before significant expansion. For the right engineer, there is a genuine pathway into leadership. The business is prepared to invest heavily in the incoming hire, including structured leadership development and university-backed management training programmes. As the platform and team grow, there will be real opportunity to step into formal technical leadership.
This is a rare chance to gain meaningful ownership now and grow into leadership as the company enters its next phase.
