The Role
Lead the China technical solutions team and act as a bridge between the Americas solutions team and China’s R&D and product teams. This role focuses on internal technical coordination, managing information flow, supporting contract reviews, and facilitating technical requests rather than direct customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a China-based team of junior and assistant solutions engineers.
- Serve as the primary interface between the Americas solutions team and China’s R&D/product teams.
- Review technical deliverables, support internal contract reviews, and ensure accurate technical information is shared across teams.
- Support system sizing, product documentation, and technical requests from US/Latam projects.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and best practices between regional teams.
- Operate on international work hours, collaborating across multiple time zones.
- Travel up to 3 months annually for global events such as RE+ to support the broader technical and leadership agenda.
Requirements
- 2+ years of ESS experience.
- Utility-scale experience preferred, C&I acceptable.
- Degree qualified in engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong technical background in product, application, or project engineering.
- Experience leading or managing a technical team, ideally in a multinational or cross-cultural environment.
- Presales experience is beneficial but direct customer interaction is limited in this role.
- Bilingual Mandarin/English required.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across geographically distributed teams.
Additional Notes
- Reports to the VP Technical (US) and works closely with senior leadership in China.
- Role is primarily remote with occasional office attendance in Beijing or Shanghai.
- Focused on internal technical leadership and supporting US/Latam projects rather than front-line client engagement.
