Our client is a global leader in lithium-ion battery technology, powering the future of electric vehicles and renewable energy. With significant investment continuing across North America, their Holland, Michigan manufacturing facility plays a critical role in supporting some of the world's largest automotive manufacturers.
As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced HR Department Leader to provide strategic and operational leadership for the site's Human Resources function.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished HR leader to influence the people strategy of a complex manufacturing operation while partnering with international leadership teams across North America and global headquarters.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you'll lead the HR function for a large-scale manufacturing facility, partnering closely with operational leaders to develop high-performing teams and deliver people strategies that support continued business growth.
You'll be responsible for balancing strategic HR leadership with operational excellence across employee relations, organizational development, workforce planning, talent management and compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Working within a global organization, you'll collaborate regularly with international stakeholders and headquarters, ensuring local HR practices align with broader business objectives while supporting the unique needs of the Holland operation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the site's Human Resources function, providing strategic direction and operational leadership.
Partner with plant leadership to develop workforce and organizational strategies.
Coach and support senior leaders on employee relations, performance management and organizational effectiveness.
Drive talent development, succession planning and leadership capability.
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment legislation.
Support workforce planning for a large manufacturing operation.
Build strong relationships with global HR teams and overseas headquarters.
Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on engagement, safety and continuous improvement.
Lead and develop the local HR team.
What We're Looking For
20+ years of Human Resources experience.
Proven leadership experience within a large, complex organization.
Strong background in automotive, battery manufacturing or Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
Experience supporting large manufacturing or industrial operations.
Demonstrated success partnering with senior operational leadership.
Experience working within an international business, collaborating with overseas headquarters.
Strong understanding of employment law, employee relations and organizational development.
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
