The US project delivery division has over 200 employees across engineering, sales, and field operations, with 100+ permanent hires planned next year as new battery facilities come online. While manufacturing operations are handled elsewhere, this team is responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting large utility-scale battery storage systems for power providers. The Role: We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join a growing division of more than 200 employees. This hands-on role partners with the senior HR leader to deliver core HR programs, drive employee experience, and provide operational HR leadership. Talent acquisition is handled by internal specialists, allowing this role to focus on leading key HR initiatives and contributing to broader people strategy. The HR Manager also serves as a backup to the HR Director, stepping in to lead the department when needed.
Key Responsibilities Employee Relations
Lead workplace investigations, including hotline reports.
Guide managers on performance issues, coaching, and corrective actions.
Performance Management
Own the full performance cycle: goal setting, mid-year and annual reviews, timelines, training, calibrations, and communications.
Support compensation review cycles and merit planning.
Lead performance improvement and talent density initiatives.
Engagement & Retention
Drive engagement and retention programs, including surveys, action planning, stay interviews, and development planning.
Contribute to succession planning in partnership with senior HR leadership.
Immigration
Act as the main contact for immigration processes, including initiating cases and reviewing/signing documents.
HR Strategy & Leadership Backup
Partner with the HR Director to develop and implement HR policies and programs.
Execute initiatives independently to advance organizational goals.
Provide guidance to the HR team and serve as HR lead in the HR Director’s absence.
Supporting Responsibilities
Provide support across HR functions including Workers’ Compensation, Learning & Development, Benefits, Compensation, HR reporting, and general HR operations.
Essential Requirements:
5-10+ years of HR experience
Experience in a technical environment such as construction, manufacturing, or engineering
Strong capability in employee relations and performance management
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgement in complex situations
Good knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Ability to work well in a fast paced and evolving environment
High work ethic and strong problem solving ability
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in an engineering-driven or renewables business
SHRM CP or SHRM SCP
Superior MS Excel Skills and Power Bi experience helpful
