Market Development Manager – Next-Generation AI & Power Infrastructure

Key Info

  • Job Title:
Market Development Manager – Next-Generation AI & Power Infrastructure
  • Sector:
    ENERGY STORAGE
  • Salary:
    160000 -200000
  • Contract Type:
    permanent
We are supporting the build-out of a newly formed division within one of the most influential energy and advanced manufacturing businesses in the United States.

Backed by an established U.S. manufacturing footprint, world-class engineering capabilities, and a proven ability to bring complex technologies to market at scale, the business is now turning its attention to one of the biggest challenges facing AI infrastructure: delivering power more efficiently, reliably, and at significantly greater scale.

At the center of this expansion is a next-generation modular medium-voltage power platform, specifically developed for hyperscale data centers and accelerated computing environments.
The technology brings together:
  • Medium-voltage solid-state transformation
  • Advanced power conversion and power electronics
  • Integrated backup power capabilities
  • 800V DC rack-ready architecture
  • High-efficiency power distribution
  • Grid and infrastructure optimization
By simplifying traditional electrical architectures, the platform has the potential to significantly improve efficiency, scalability, reliability, footprint, and total cost of ownership across next-generation data center environments.

This is not a concept-stage startup. The engineering expertise, manufacturing infrastructure, and financial backing are already in place. The business is now building the commercial team responsible for introducing this technology to the market.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Market Development Manager who combines a strong technical understanding of electrical power systems with the commercial ability and curiosity to identify where emerging technologies can solve real customer challenges.

This could be an excellent next step for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, Sales Manager, or Business Development professional looking to take greater ownership of market strategy, customer engagement, and commercial growth.

You don't necessarily need to have held a strategic market development position before. What matters is your ability to understand complex electrical technologies, recognize their commercial applications and engage credibly with technical and commercial decision-makers.

Working closely with senior engineering, product and commercial leadership, you will help establish the market for a new generation of power infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop commercial opportunities across hyperscale data centers, AI infrastructure and critical power markets.
  • Engage directly with hyperscalers, data center operators, utilities, EPCs and infrastructure developers to understand their technical requirements and operational challenges.
  • Translate complex power electronics and electrical infrastructure capabilities into clear, commercially compelling customer solutions.
  • Work alongside engineering and product teams to evaluate customer applications, technical feasibility and system integration requirements.
  • Help customers understand the advantages of emerging power architectures compared with traditional infrastructure solutions.
  • Build relationships with key technical influencers, engineering teams and commercial decision-makers.
  • Gather market intelligence, customer feedback and competitive insights to help shape product positioning and go-to-market strategy.
  • Support the development of early customer opportunities, strategic partnerships and long-term commercial relationships.
This is not simply a role focused on selling an established product portfolio. It is an opportunity to help introduce a new technology platform, develop its market applications and influence how customers approach power infrastructure in the future.

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in individuals who have developed their careers within technically complex electrical power environments.

Relevant backgrounds could include:
  • Technical Sales Engineering – selling complex electrical equipment, power electronics or critical power solutions.
  • Applications Engineering – working with customers to define technical requirements, develop solutions and support system integration.
  • Power Electronics & Conversion – experience with inverters, converters, rectifiers, solid-state transformers or related technologies.
  • UPS & Critical Power – knowledge of backup power systems, data center electrical infrastructure and power reliability.
  • Medium-Voltage Infrastructure – experience with MV distribution, switchgear, transformers and electrical power architecture.
  • Data Center Power Systems – understanding of hyperscale electrical infrastructure, power distribution and evolving rack-level requirements.
  • Industrial & Grid-Facing Power Systems – experience supporting complex electrical applications across industrial, utility or infrastructure markets.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical credibility, commercial awareness and the confidence to engage with customers on complex engineering challenges.

You should enjoy understanding how technologies work, identifying where they create value and helping customers adopt new solutions.

Experience selling into hyperscale data centers would be advantageous, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in individuals from adjacent power electronics and electrical infrastructure markets who can demonstrate the technical foundation and commercial instincts to succeed.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

The rapid growth of AI and accelerated computing is creating unprecedented demand for electrical power, exposing the limitations of traditional data center power architectures.

The industry is increasingly looking towards higher-voltage distribution, advanced power conversion, and more integrated electrical systems to address challenges around efficiency, power density, reliability, and scalability.

Very few organizations possess the combination of engineering capability, manufacturing scale and infrastructure experience required to bring these technologies to market successfully.
This business does.

For someone currently working in technical sales or applications engineering, this represents an opportunity to move beyond supporting existing products and become directly involved in shaping the commercial adoption of an entirely new power infrastructure platform.

You will gain exposure to senior technical leadership, emerging hyperscale applications, strategic customer relationships, and the commercial development of a rapidly evolving technology category.

For the right individual, this is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise with a much broader commercial and strategic remit, helping define how next-generation AI infrastructure is powered.
