Role Summary
As the Sr. Manager of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), you will lead a team dedicated to ensuring workplace safety and compliance with state and federal occupational health and safety regulations. You will manage environmental compliance programs including air quality renewable operating permit, NPDES permit, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, Storm Water Pollution Prevention, SPCC, Form R, Tier II, GHG, and DOT hazardous materials management, in addition to fire prevention, protection and emergency response plans, as well as occupational injury and illness management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead EHS strategy to ensure team safety, regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, state/local), and loss prevention.
Build a safety-first culture and drive improvements in metrics such as Incident Rate and Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR).
Establish and maintain the site’s EHS management system and lead ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 certification efforts.
Manage occupational injury/illness processes, hazard identification, and risk mitigation across plant operations.
Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
Oversee emergency response planning, fire safety programs, and site drills.
Conduct line walks, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance and safe practices.
Guide EHS training for employees, contractors, and new hires.
Support sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance programs, including reporting and audits.
Essential Requirements
10+ years of EH&S experience including strong manufacturing or chemical industry experience
Strong management experience, with capability to manage a medium sized team
Experience in fire, occupational safety, hygiene, and emergency management
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, fire code compliance, and ISO 45001
