The Role We are hiring Senior and Staff level Solutions Engineers to support the development and delivery of utility-scale BESS solutions across North America.
This is a customer-facing technical role, acting as a key interface between customers, sales, product, engineering, and R&D. You will lead solution design, proposal strategy, technical risk assessment, and customer-facing engineering support from early engagement through to contract award.
The role requires strong full-system BESS expertise, including system architecture, grid integration, fire safety, codes and standards, and the ability to translate customer requirements into technically credible and commercially competitive energy storage solutions. What you will do:
Lead technical solution design for utility-scale BESS projects, including system sizing, configuration optimization, and performance modeling
Serve as the technical lead for RFP and RFQ responses, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and industry standards
Own or support technical proposal packages, including SLDs, layouts, performance guarantees, and compliance documentation
Provide technical guidance on codes and standards including UL, NFPA, IEEE, CSA, and local AHJ requirements
Interface directly with customers, EPCs, developers, IPPs, utilities, integrators, and asset owners to resolve technical questions and support commercial progress
Conduct technical risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies across design, performance, schedule, and project execution
Work closely with product and R&D teams to share customer feedback and influence product roadmap decisions
Support contract negotiations on technical terms, guarantees, and performance specifications
The candidate We are looking for a senior customer-facing engineer with strong utility-scale BESS experience and a clear understanding of full-system energy storage solutions.
Previous pre-sales experience is required, including exposure to RFPs, RFQs, proposals, customer workshops, technical sales support, or solution engineering. The successful candidate will be able to speak confidently with customers, understand project requirements, and translate those requirements into practical, commercially viable technical solutions.
Experience within utility-scale energy storage is essential. The company is particularly interested in candidates from BESS OEMs, battery manufacturers, system integrators, inverter companies, developers, IPPs, utilities, or EPCs, provided they have worked closely with ESS projects and understand the product and system-level requirements.
